The Last Fold
the bar in the ribs of a dead god
The Last Fold is carved into the soft, half-rotted organs and ribcage of a titanic corpse folded across a crossroads of planes. The air tastes of stale salt and old incense; faintly phosphorescent fungi blink in the gaps between ribs, throwing sickly light over a crowd of traders, smugglers and things that do not answer when you speak. Conversations are a low hum of bartering — coin for secrets, favors for passage. Somewhere deep in the carcass, slow, wet shifts of tissue sound like distant thunder. The bar itself is a slab of polished bone, scarred by old flame sigils and sticky with oil. Lanterns in jars cast jittering shadows; rats with too-many-eyes slip between crates of contraband — caged memories, bottled storms, teeth filed into charms. You notice a ledger chained to the counter, a ring of keys dangling from the keeper's belt, and a back doorway stitched shut with sinew that someone goes through when they think no one is looking. It's the kind of place where a nod buys silence and a wrong eye contact buys trouble.
A corroded iron rib bent into an arch, hung by chains; its surface is pitted and stitched with bits of leather and bone, a single dull bead of vitreous glass lashed at its center — no words, only a dark stain trailing down one side.

Stats
Foldfire Shot
2 cpA flammable, bitter spirit poured from a cracked vial and set briefly alight; it scorches the throat and blunts planar senses for an hour, making wards and detection spells roll with disadvantage (GM call).
Squalid (5e lifestyle: about 1 sp a day)
Tollo · barmaid
A lanky human-ish creature with too-many-jointed fingers who moves like spilled oil and remembers everyone's tab by smell.
Grune · bouncer
A broad-bodied humanoid in patched bone mail who prefers to frighten troublemakers before he breaks them.
Old Nima the Broker
A patched-up sahuagin trader who deals in promises and owes Gritt an old favor — desperately looking for the Glass Eye of Rith to repay a creditor.
Kest Brix
A planar smuggler with a map tattooed across his palms who buys passage and sells whispered routes between folds for coin or information.
Three-Finger Mire
A mute ex-priest whose missing hand was replaced with a jarred token; he trades blessings for pieces of memory and has a key that matches one on Gritt's ring.
1
Old Nima is hunting the Glass Eye of Rith — a pocket-organ sealed in the next fold that supposedly records the last sight of a dead god and can reveal hidden planar gates.
2
A courier named Veris was seen sneaking a stitched map into Three-Finger Mire's jar last week; whoever controls that map can find a secret stitch-gate beneath the carcass.
3
A masked collector called the Grey Stitch pays well for living memories; Kest Brix claims he has a client willing to buy the memory of a minor god's dream for a coffin of platinum.
