Moonroot Carnival
the inn where midsummer never falls
Warm, shifting light pools from lanterns braided with living flowers; the air tastes faintly of honey and rain. Musicians circle the rafters on unseen platforms, their melodies looping in new patterns each time you blink, while dancers—elves, humans, a foxfolk, a lanky satyr—trade places between the tables. Platters steam with herb-scented roast and sweet pastry; laughter and the clink of glass sound like a single long chorus. Nothing here feels strictly the same two moments in a row: colors seem a touch brighter, the shadows lean in to listen, and if you stay long enough a ribbon of silver light will braid itself into your hair.
A weathered wooden wheel hung with living ivy and tiny glass bells; the paint shows a painted fox mid-dance — the bells tinkle on the breeze and never quite stop

Dawnthread
5 spA pale sparkling cocktail of moonwine and crushed summer petals that makes a weary patron feel two hours younger and oddly brave for the next scene; the first sip brings a vivid, pleasant memory of childhood summers that may distract the drinker for 1 minute (advantage on one Charisma check to entertain).

Pellin Quickspoon · cook
A halfling who tosses spices like confetti and insists every stew needs three different kinds of berry.
Korun · barmaid
A lanky eladrin who moves between seasons each hour, offering compliments that smell faintly like summer rain.
Mira Glencur
A human poet stranded in the revel; she seeks the Turning Clock to free her sister's memory trapped in the carnival's dances.
Harrow of the North Gate
A retired mercenary-turned-minstrel who keeps one eye always on the doorway and listens for strangers who smell like the mortal world.
1
The Thornbell: a rusted bell hung in the drowned hollow beyond the orchard rings when rung three times will let a mortal walk into the fey tide for a single night.
2
Lady Vireth: a silver-crowned patron who once traded a city's autumn to the fey; she is said to want the Turning Clock returned to finish her bargain.
3
The Turning Clock: an ornate mortal timepiece stolen from a caravan — locals whisper it ticks beneath Moonroot Carnival's hearth and that its removal would either free or doom those trapped by the revel.
