Hearth Beneath the Veil
the inn at the edge of the dream realm
A warm, low-ceilinged room with woven rugs that feel like walking on clouds and lamps that hum with a soft, indigo glow. The air smells of cardamom and chamomile, threaded with the faint ozone of the Dreamway; conversations ripple gently, as if patrons are speaking in low tides. Every bed and alcove has a small amulet of braided hair and glass beads suspended above it — the keeper's wards — and when a traveler lies down the world seems to press close and hush. You notice shelves of bottled night-sounds, a wicker cradle for lost thoughts, and maps pinned behind the bar showing impossible constellations.
An oaken disk rimmed in copper hangs over the door; an embroidered eye stitched shut in silver thread is centered on the disk. The copper is faintly tarnished but well cared-for; no words are painted, only the stitched symbol.

1
Master Vilon Crest claims an old map points to the Arch of Passing, a dream-gate in the ruins of Galdren's Crossing that opens once the moon forgets its name.
2
A trader named Salla Twinspar lost a small bronze key that fits a chest in the Dream Bazaar; she promises a ring of waking to anyone who returns it.
3
An escaped night-spirit called the Glass Wailer has been sighted drifting between inns; Rook says it sings clues about the night-jar's origin when it thinks no one is listening.
