Vexil Quor
Arcane Trickster Lord
Vexil Quor is a small, impossibly lithe predator of shadow and misdirection: a master thief whose sleight of hand is backed by genuine, dangerous sorcery. In combat Vexil slips through illusions and vanishes behind reflected images, striking from blind spots while enemies flail at phantasms. What makes Vexil terrifying is not raw strength but complete control of the battlefield — traps of bewildering glamour, spells that seize an ally's will, and a personal blade that bites with both steel and mind. When Vexil chooses the stage, the line between friend and foe blurs and the only safe option is to flee or be undone by cunning.

Multiattack. The Vexil makes two Shadowglass Dirk attacks.
Shadowglass Dirk. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d8+6) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) psychic damage. If the target is flanked or surprised, the psychic damage increases to 14 (4d6).
Mirror Lash (Recharge 5–6). Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (5d8) psychic damage and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or be stunned until the end of Vexil's next turn as spectral reflections crawl inside their eyes.
Uncanny Dodge. When an attacker that Vexil can see hits them with an attack, Vexil halves the attack's damage against them.
The creature can take 3 legendary actions per round, choosing from the options below.
Quick Strike. Vexil makes one Shadowglass Dirk attack.
Fleeting Image. Vexil casts invisibility on themselves (self only) or ends invisibility, without using a spell slot. If ending invisibility because of this action, Vexil may make one Shadowglass Dirk attack as part of the same action against a creature that is within 5 ft. of them.
Mage Hand Mischief. Vexil uses Mage Hand (as a cantrip) to manipulate the battlefield: the hand can snatch a small object from a creature (forcing a DC 16 Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check contested by the target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics)), trip a creature (target must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone), or pull a small mirror or curtain to block line of sight to a target for 1 round (granting total cover against one attacker).
Vexil Quor arose from the vaulted warrens below the glass-market district of Harlund, apprenticed as a pickpocket to an aging guildmaster of the Sable Spindle. Vexil's curiosity led them to forbidden lecture notes and a ruined observatory where an eccentric arcanist taught combinatory tricks of illusion and enchantment. The result was a thief who fused legerdemain with precise arcana: phantom hands that could filch a coin and the memory behind it, glamour that could rewrite witness testimony, and a blade that whispered secrets as it cut. Legends say Vexil once stole an object known as the Mirror Shard of Jenev, a slice of a broken scrying god, and used it to craft mirrors that trap reflections. Scholars like Master Harrowin of the Guildhall of Glass catalogue the trickster's handiwork under the name 'quor-meshing' — illusions anchored to memory rather than sight. The Sable Spindle now denies formal ties, though several of its members still whisper of Vexil's raids against corrupt merchants and cruel magistrates. Vexil lairs in a movable suite of stolen rooms — baffling, mirrored apartments that can be arranged like a sliding puzzle — and prefers to pick pockets rather than burn cities, though those who cross deeper lines awake to nightmares and vanished heirs.
Vexil Quor is a willowy humanoid with sharp, narrow features and an abundance of small scars around the fingertips. Their hair is cropped close on one side, the other side long and threaded with thin metal filaments that glint like broken mirrors. Clothing is layered: a fitted, high-collared doublet of black and muted green studded with polished mirror-shards and soft leather bracers lined with hidden pockets. A slender curved blade — the Shadowglass Dirk — hangs at the hip; its flat face shows a warped reflection rather than a true one. Eyes are pale gray and almost reflective; skin tones are olive with a faint, mottled luminescence in shadow. Scattered about their person are glass shards, lockpicks, small vials of smoke, and a folding mirror the size of a palm. When posing for scale, show Vexil next to a human of average height (Vexil is slightly shorter, around 5'6") standing in a narrow, tiled hallway lined with tall, warped mirrors that echo their slight, tense stance.
