Cernabryn Stagwarden
Autumn Court Huntsman
A towering huntsman with the head of a stag and the lithe body of a forester, the Cernabryn Stagwarden moves like a shadow through leaf-litter and firelight. Its antlers are rimed with curling runes of copper and ember, and wherever it passes the air smells of crushed nuts and the faint tang of iron — a promise of both feast and blood. It stalks mortals who stray into autumnal places, offering faux-courtesies and eldritch bargains before cutting them down with theatrical, unhurried precision.

Multiattack. The Stagwarden makes two Antler or two Scythe-claw attacks, or one of each.
Antler. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8+4) piercing damage.
Scythe-claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6+4) slashing damage.
Autumn's Coil (Recharge 5-6). Ranged 30 ft. (line) — The Stagwarden unleashes a whispering wind of leaves and briars in a 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in the line must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be restrained by thorny vines and leaves for 1 minute. A restrained creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Creatures that succeed are pushed 5 feet to the side and are not restrained.
Mocking Call (Cantrip). The Stagwarden utters a perfect imitation of a humanoid voice or woodland creature. Any Medium or smaller beast that hears the call and is within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or approach the Stagwarden, believing the call to be harmless. A creature that succeeds is not affected.
Reactive Antlers. When a creature the Stagwarden can see hits it with a melee attack, the Stagwarden can attempt to shove the attacker 5 feet as a reaction. The attacker must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be pushed 5 ft. away and knocked prone.
Cernabryn Stagwardens are servants and hunters of the Glanver Court, a seasonal fey retinue that rules the half-year of waning light and harvest. Legends claim the first Stagwarden was a woodcutter who cut down an exalted oak and was reborn with the bark's resentment; the Glanver Court bound him to its hunt and granted antlers that whisper to deer and shadow. Hunters who vanish in the harvest woods speak of a polite voice that asks for a 'keeping of accounts' beneath russet trees. Scholars such as Marrek Ise of Wyrmwood Grove trace the Stagwarden's patterns by the scattering of acorns left like talismans at fresh kills; the creature collects tokens from its prey to barter with other fey. The Stagwarden's lair is often a ring of standing trunks known as a 'hollow seat' where the court holds mock trials; stray travelers taken here are rarely seen again unless returned as trophies or bargaining chips for the court's whims. Local hunters fear the Stagwarden’s mimicry — it will copy a lost companion's call, leading pursuers into snares and bewitched briars.
A male-bodied fey roughly human-sized but longer-limbed, clothed in a patchwork coat of browned leaves, moss, and stitched hunting trophies. Its head is a real stag skull with a full rack of antlers; living muscles and fur frame the bone, and the antlers are veined with coppery runes that glow faintly at dusk. Its eyes are glossy amber, reflecting like lanterns. Fingers end in chipped, plant-like black nails; strips of fungus and lichen cling to knees and shoulders. Scars of old arrows cross its ribcage, and a leather bandolier of carved bone trinkets hangs at its hip. When it moves it leaves a whisper of falling leaves and the faint crunch of twigs, and steam-like motes of spores trail from its coat in cold weather.
